There&#039;s a big difference between looking at a job or profession and thinking &quot;Gee, that must be a neat job/career!&quot; vs. &quot;Gee, that would be a great fit for me!&quot;  We all have to come to grips with the &quot;paper vs. reality&quot; puzzle in our lives, but never more so than with the first job or two out of school.  I often tell my career coaching clients, &quot;Figuring out what you don&#039;t want to do is just as important as deciding what you do want to do.  Nothing is lost by that learning opportunity, unless, as you point out, someone stays in a job that isn&#039;t right for him/her out of inertia or fear.  Your article reminded me of a Robert Louis Stevenson quote, which also relates to cards:  &quot;Life is not a matter of holding good cards, but of playing a poor hand well.&quot; Because sometimes our &quot;reality check&quot; will bounce.</description>
